Astrology is a culturally significant practice across all of Terra for most of its history that spans multiple different techniques and mediums. They all revolve heavily around the Sea of Souls and its behaviors. Astrology practices also hold important mechanical significance in both Anthrodia: Tactics and Anthrodia: Remagia, as well as the Astrologian Your Only Move Is HUSTLE character mod.

Prime souls

The night sky, populated by the 10 known prime souls with their constellations at high integrity.

Prime souls are whole, unfragmented souls that populate the Sea of Souls. They are notably brighter than Fae souls, and shine white in the night sky. There are ten known prime souls. Unlike Fae souls, prime souls never incarnate into individuals due to the nature of The Realm of the Fae post-Sundering.

Historical significance

According to archaeological records, it is believed that the prime souls are the souls of Truekin that survived The Great Sundering in one piece, and now serve as the cores of constellations. These individuals are believed to have been important figureheads of Truekin culture before its erasure, and thus they have become religious and mythical figures for the Fae. Listed below are all 10 known prime souls and their associated constellations and mythical significance.

List of all prime souls

She

She

She is the governing prime soul of the month of Sheon in the Primary calendar, and is associated with piety and strength of will. According to archaeological records, She was a sympathetic and selfless religious figure of Truekin culture, whose church united the myriad tribes into harmony, and was potentially one of the key figures in the progress of True Magic.

In old Manaian religion, She is seen as the saint of time and the patron saint of the Realm of the Fae, allowing the passage of the new year and bestowing the bishops of the Theocracy with their holy privilege. Some also believed that the arch-bishop was the incarnation of a shard of She's soul.

Chiang

Chiang

Chiang is the governing prime soul of the month of Chiron in the Primary calendar, and is associated with exploration and passion. According to archaeological records, Chiang was a revolutionary explorer who led expeditions into the continent of Gr'ahr and what is now The Islands of Fae Lagos.

In old Manaian religion, Chiang is seen as the saint of life and love, with its expansionism and bravery populating the Realm in ancient times prior to the Great Sundering, allowing the Fae to rebuild in the Truekin's stead.

Qiahan

Qiahan

Qiahan is the governing prime soul of the month of Qiahas in the Primary calendar, and is associated with bravery and strength. According to archaological records, Qiahan was a soldier of exceptional skill, leading a grand army to protect the Truekin people.

In old Manaian religion, Qiahan is seen as the saint of strength, with their power to unite people together being seen as an admirable trait of those born under it.

Yu

Yu

Yu is the governing prime soul of the month of Yuna in the Primary calendar, and is associated with water and prosperity. According to archaeological records, Yu was the captain of the largest naval fleet in the entirety of Terra, facilitating trade and safe waters.

In old Manaian religion, Yu is seen as the saint of wealth, with its constellation being in high integrities being seen as a good omen for trade that year, and its appearance being recognized as the beginning of a new fiscal year.

Xiafue

Xiafue

Xiafue is the governing soul of the month of Siffron (formerly Xifis) in the Primary calendar, and is associated with honor and tradition. According to archaeological records, Xiafue was a stalward defender of its homeland, said to have singlehandedly defended its land from crusaders without rest for 3 years. The month of Xifis was renamed to Siffron in P.S. 671, to honor the passing of Siffron Azuris, the first Shieldbearer of the Bearer's Treaty.

In old Manaian religion, Xiafue is seen as the saint of tradition, stalwartly defending the old ways and keeping the fires of honor and integrity lit throughout the generations.

Emo

Emo

Emo is the governing prime soul of the month of Emoris in the Primary calendar, and is associated with night and The Endless Expanse. According to Archaeological records, Emo was a sentient and intelligent Lizardman, potentially the first Abyssal creature to cross into the Realm in known history. Inheriting the soul of a Truekin, it advocated to respect the boundaries of reality, while studying the nature of reality itself.

Old Manaian religion historically was split on depictions of Emo. The most popular interpretation was that it is the saint of darkness and evil, with its constellation being in high integrities being seen as a warning of high Abyssal activity. An alternative interpretation is that it is the saint of reality, protecting the time-space borders between the Realm and the Expanse from being shattered, with the practice of summoning being seen as a direct violation of Emo's will.

Huo

Huo

Huo is the governing prime soul of the month of Hundus, and is associated with growth and nature. According to archaeological records, Huo was a practicioner of True Magic who went into isolation for eight years and eight days to seek spiritual enlightenment. It is said that, where Huo sat unmoving for those eight years and eight days, flourished into a vibrant and thriving forest.

In old Manaian religion, Huo is seen as the saint of nature, governing over the health of the land itself, with its constellation in high integrities being a good omen for the harvest. There also exists a subsect of this religion named Huonism that focuses primarily on spiritual cultivation, following the stories of Huo.

Kekui

Kekui

Kekui is the governing prime soul of the month of Kekilan (alternatively Buruto) in the Primary calendar, and is associated with science and intelligence. According to archaeological records, Kekui was a brilliant scientist who led a technological revolution for its people, bringing society into a state of utopia. The month of Kekilan was renamed to Buruto in P.S. 675 to honor the passing of Kigo Buruto, the first Swordbearer of the Bearer's Treaty, however this name of the month is primarily used in Reed culture, with much less adoption elsewhere on Terra.

In old Manaian religion, Kekui is the saint of science, with many of those born under its light being known to be groundbreaking inventors and researchers, and its constellation being in high integrities being a sign of incoming advancement.

Nao

Nao

Nao is the governing prime soul of the month of Nalus in the Primary calendar, and is associated with the wind and weather. According to archaeological records, Nao was a noble who, at the darkest hour of Truekin history, parted the clouds and allowed the Sun to shine its brilliant rays on the people, restoring hope to the land.

In old Manaian religion, Nao is the saint of the winds, breathing life into the land and bringing cleansing rain to wash away sin. It is said that the migration of birds is a manifestation of Nao's will.

Long

Long

Long is the governing prime soul of the month of Longinus in the Primary calendar, and is associated with dominance and mankind. According to archaeological records, Long was the first wyvern rider, taming the wild and violent nature of feral beasts into a show of the dominance of man.

In old Manaian religion, Long is the saint of mankind, being a testament to the strength of the soul and the undying will to survive and thrive.

As religious idols

Old Manaian religion sees the prime souls as a pantheon of godly figures that govern Terra and oversee it and its people. Together, they guide the Fae with an invisible hand, and communicate their will and wishes through the Sea of Souls. Newer teachings greatly diminish the assumed influence of the prime souls on Terra with a greater understanding that the prime souls, like Fae souls, do not retain will or a sense of morality, but still look to them for inspiration and guidance in a lesser sense.

As birth signs

Throughout Roldean culture as a whole, individuals see the prime souls as an equivalent to real world Zodiac signs, with the most dominant constellation in the night sky being treated as one's birth sign, its integrity assigning additional meaning depending on the mythology of the prime soul.

Being born under She in high integrity indicates ones soul being exceptionally durable and resilient to hardship, while it being in low integrity indicates that they shall seek strength through connections and faith to overcome difficulties.

Being born under Chiang in high integrity indicates a fiery personality patterned with flights of passion, while it being in low integrity indicates a stoic, steady, and rational disposition.

Being born under Huo in high integrity indicates that they will be a healing figure for the world and those around them, while it being in low integrity indicates that, despite hardship, they will be a shining beacon of hope for those they hold dear.
